NOM of the Week...

Genki Sushi in Seattle

Okay. I admit it. I have a very hard time remembering to take a photo of the food BEFORE I eat it. I'll see what I can do for next week. But for now, the NOM of the Week is Genki Sushi in Lower Queen Anne: 511 Mercer St, Seattle, WA 98109

This is a total gem of a place located above the new-ish QFC grocery store across from the still-under-construction Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation building on the corner of Mercer Ave. and 5th Ave.

Now, I love sushi. I love GOOD sushi. But my favorite is Good, CHEAP sushi -- and luckily, this place fits the bill! I mean seriously -- look at those prices: $1.00 / $1.50 / $2.00 plates! They even have enough variety to keep things interesting. They've got a conveyor belt system like Blue C Sushi and plenty of seats. They even have noodle soups on the menu for a mere $3.00 a bowl. I really could have gotten out of there for less than $10 if I was able to stop grabbing plates...but even so, I ended up at under $15 and left feeling totally satisfied. What a deal!

My advice: give Genki Sushi a try! They have their own (FREE) parking garage under the building and a Starbucks in the QFC for an after meal coffee...how can you possibly go wrong?!?

OH - and if you're a calamari fan (and I am!) you HAVE to try their calamari plate. $2.00 for 3 huge pieces of deep-fried leggy calamari goodness. Hot from the fryer and seasoned just right. NOM!
